I updated ACDSee 8.x a couple of times with idx-2-1-6-en-update.exe from files.acdsystems.com and even after reboots Secunia Personal Software Inspector still finds a Catagory 4 threat. Suggestions please.

I had exactly the same problem using ACDSee 8 under XP Pro.
I think the detection logic of PSI for our ACDSee 8 is somehow broken.

I got rid of the problem as I reinstalled my PC with Vista,
and replaced ACDSee 8 with ACDSee 10. :-)

ACDSee has now updated to ACDSee 2009 and no longer supports previous editions. Costs $35 if you have an ACDSee version on your computer (which you do) and $50 if you don't. I upgraded and there are no longer any problems.

I think your right - ACDSee 8 is an older version and likely no longer supported. Thanks for the reply.

I use ACDSee 6.0.3, mainly converting multi-frame GIFS to individual files, and resizing some others. What is my best upgrade route so I can get rid of the notice with PSI?
