Thanks for the final PSI 2. It now seems to work, which the beta didn't always do.
But I know that I have some old applications that don't show up. It seems that PSI has skipped them because I have accepted them as they are.
How do I reset PSI "to scratch" in order to make a "virgin scan" (as if it had never scanned before)?
And how do I make sure that it doesn't update without asking me first?

Try this:

1. Dashboard>Configuration>Settings>Ignore rules - now delete your old ignore rules.

2. U will also note in settings two options about updating.Tweak them to meet your requirements.

3. There is a Manual to explain all this at Dashboard>Learn More>Secunia PSI Manual(PDF)which may prove helpful.

If all your problems are now resolved could U please lock (Accept) the thread. This will prevent us both from receiving update emails from "tag on" posts.

Thanks, so far so good ...
But the scan aborts itself before reaching stage 8 (or at stage 8).
So it often did already before updating PSI. Why?
And I have an error message:

Error: TypeError
Function: util.switchPage
File: undefined
Line: undefined
Description: length is ‘null’ or not an object

What can I do?

Hi,

Please try shutting down the PSI and the tray icon.

Is the error reproducible after you open the PSI 2.0 Again?

Thanks,
it did work when I tried again.
Let's hope that it continues to do so ...
A merry Christmas to you all!

Well, it seems that the problems are almost solved.
It still may happen that a scan aborts itself, but when I close PSI and start it again, it so far runs to the end next time.
I will leave the thread open for a while more in case someone has a on this.

During the scan U can see the progress - at what point does it stall?

Well, I cannot reproduce the self-abort for the time being, but I think that it happened at stage 7. Maybe because it takes too long to load Microsoft data when there is high Internet traffic through my provider (located in Slovenia). That is just a guess.
I will close this thread after Christmas.

Well, the scan still often aborts itself when it is supposed to go from stage 7 to stage 8.
But when I turn the PSI window off, start PSI again and repeat the scan, it continues from 7 to 8 and finishes.
Strange ...
Any comment before I finally close this thread?

I've found that defragging just before a scan can sometimes improve the "smoothness" of the operation....just a suggestion....regards,
