Locking a topic that wasn't really answered and was resolved only by going back to previous version isn't a good idea.
The one trying to help should at least make an effort and read the question. The user specifically said he has German Windows, so it's obvious there is no 'Workstation' service, as the names of services are localized. Just blindly posting a copy paste response that applies only to English Windows isn't exactly helpful.

So how to get the localized name of Workstation service?:

1. launch command line (XP: Start -> Run -> type in cmd.exe, Vista/7: Start -> type cmd.exe in the search field)
2. in command line enter sc GetDisplayName LanmanWorkstation

Regarding the locking of a thread....that is the choice of the originator of the thread.
It is not a good idea to tag on the threads of others as they may lock it at any time. Whenever possible, tis best to create your own...then only you will have the option to close it.....hope this is some clarification....regards,

Don't the Mods have the ability to move a "tag on" to a new Topic for better exposure. I understand the OP has control over the thread. Too bad the "tag on" gets locked along with OP.

The "tag on" of course has the option to start a new Topic. The "tag on" would not get an email notice as to OP locked thread. Catch 22

Best as you write. Not to "tag on"
Thanks
