I have Xampp version 1.6.8 installed. This includes PHP v4.4.9 AND v5.2.6. The earlier version is required since many ISPs (including mine) have yet to upgrade to v5.

The scanner is telling me that I have v4.4.x installed (correct) and is trying to encourage me to download and install v5.2.6 (which is already installed). Do I just accept that if I want to continue to use v4.4 (which I must), that I have to live with the warnings? Or is there an upgrade to v4.4 which addresses the apparent security concerns?

Thanks
Chris

Hello Chris,

I think 4.4.9 is the latest version of php 4.4.x, see:
http://secunia.com/advisories/31409/

I don't know if that is an option for you?

As I noted, the version of PHP version 4 I have installed IS v4.4.9. So where do I go from here?

So the psi is complaining about version 4.4.9? That seems odd considering the link I posted earlier and this:
http://www.php.net/archive/2008.php#id2008-08-07-1

Sure it is not a different php version it is detecting and complaining about?

Thanks for your response.

I only have the two versions installed: v4.4.9.9 and v5.2.6. It is complaining about v4.4.x.

I have searched for any other PHP installations on hte computer. There are none...

So the answer is yes.

OK. Just a little fyi: If you hover your mouse over the PHP entry, the psi will show you the path of where it detected the php installation. It is easier than searching for it ;-)

Thanks for the heads-up. It just confirms that I was looking in the correct (and only) place.

Regards
Chris
