your list of features for the online service Secunia OSI includes a line stating

"Activates additional security features in Sun Java."

but I'd like to know what changes this service makes to the configuration of other software on my computer, before I consider running it. I have looked in your FAQ and searched the OSI forum, but I can find no explanation of what the additional security features in Java are.

Can somebody please let me know what this feature _actually_ does.

Last edited on 31st Jan, 2011 15:10 Hi,

When run, the OSI enables the "validation.crl" (Certificate Revocation List) and "validation.ocsp" (Online certificate status protocol) security features in Java.

If you want to see for yourself, you can observe the Java console when the OSI runs.

Hope this answers your question. :)
