Anyone? All that I get is a white screen and then it closes. I have tried removing, rebooting and reinstalling but doesn't work. The service starts and runs properly, when I mouse over the system tray icon it displays my score, but the main screen will never show anything other than white then dies. |

Are U using Internet Explorer (IE) 9 BETA? -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 SP1 16GB RAM |

I had problems with 1.5. When I tried to open it by selecting the tray icon or trying to start it from Programs, it would not open. I uninstalled it today, then downloaded and installed version 2.0. Now I get a briefly loaded white screen, the program will not run, but info is available in the tray icon about insecurities. My OS is Windows XP3. SP3. I have Comcast and the Norton Security bundle. I really like this program, but my troubles with getting it to function are at least 6 months old. Please help with a detailed response, perhaps a step by step fix or workaround? Thank you. | ||||||||

@Imt66........Hello. With regard to psi 2.0; and even tho' you've used psi previously....you should read thro' the more recent FAQ's thoroughly....particularly check that your settings comply as here :-http://secunia.com/products/consumer/PSI/faq/ FAQ's Did you clear out temp. files/browser cache before installing ? Are you sure your firewall permissions are configured to allow Secunia....I had an instance once when upgrading that Secunia got shut out. Other than that, all I can suggest is that you scour the forum for similar topics/advice. Hope it helps........regards, -- |

@mogs, Thanks very much for your suggestion. I will try emptying caches and temporary files. I had read the information at the link you provided, and just re-read it, but did not see any other information on settings. I will also try downloading through a different browser (Chrome). I will try to check to see if my firewall (Norton security bundle from Comcast) could be causing a problem. If you or anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know... Hours later: Tried emptying caches and temporary Internet files through Firefox and IE. Tried uninstalling PSI 2 and downloading through Chrome, then installing again. Checked firewall, Secunia access is enabled. Still get white screen for a brief moment when I click on tray icon, then nothing. Please help. |

Don't blame yourself or your computer, notice the problem just came on this week. I have been using PSI a long time, used the beta and now the release version. The problem is from Microsoft's updates this week. I just installed them and now I have the same problem. I went to uninstall the updates and each one told me that if I uninstall it I will loose Java update, and PSI. I didn't try Java update yet, but I did loose PSI screen. It still seems to be working in the background but the screen will not stay up. Microsoft needs to fix this problem with another update. | ||||||||

Hello All , The problem of the PSI opening and then disappearing on XP SP3 machines is/was a known bug and there are specific steps indicated near the end (scroll down) of this section of the FAQ's :- http://secunia.com/products/consumer/PSI/faq/#s3 It is still possible that the latest patch Tuesday KB's are causing problems for some people , but if you do use XP try the workaround . Thank you Anthony, I now have PSI working, but only after doing the very last action in the section you pointed us to, which said: 2) Go to Control Panel > Regional and language options > Languages Tab > Details > Advanced. From here, set a check at 'Turn off advanced text services' Extremely pleased to now having PSI working. Thanks a Million. Susan |

@ Anthony, THANK YOU! I have had problems with PSI since last August. PSI 2.0 installed easily and functions properly on my Windows 7 laptop. I had given up on PSI on the XP desktop since August. Previous workarounds had not worked. Like other respondents, I followed the recommendations for the link you suggested up to the instructions below: "1) Go to where you installed the PSI (Probably C:\Program Files\Secunia\PSI, or C:\Program Files (x86) for 64-bit systems), right-click PSI.exe, click Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and set a check at 'Turn off advanced text services for this program" Nothing worked until I did the above step. Now PSI is happily scanning and finding much stuff to fix! I really appreciate your assistance! |

@lmt66 , Not sure if smurphdude will pick up here , but as I remember part of it is due to script/text settings in M$ Office for (a) certain module(s) - like Drawing Pad .
