After I upgraded to PSI 2.0 the program loaded very slowly, compared to the previous version. I assumed this was the price I had to pay for continuing added complexity. In the last several days the program has refused to load after over 5 minutes waiting. Tonight I downloaded the January 2011 version of 2.0 and reinstalled it. Still I cannot get the product to run. I have rebooted my system. All the other security products I run are working quickly and properly. -- Craig W. |

None of the FAQs relate to my experience. The program is hanging at the initial, opening screen and the red opening dots are not moving. I cannot get to the product to change any options and reinstalling before and after rebooting doesn't do anything to change things. I will try totally uninstalling the product first, rebooting, then reinstalling to see if this helps. -- Craig W. |

Craig , The FAQ I have linked you to is specifically titled :- The Secunia PSI is stuck at "Verifying Internet connection..." and won't start. What can I do? This would seem to be exactly your problem !! The stuck dots are trying to get to the Secunia PSI servers via the internet to open the GUI . The PSI uses the embedded IE engine to do this . The instructions , if you read them carefully , are about your system and IE settings , all of which are available to you without the PSI running . I would try to follow/check every single one of the steps/suggestions if I were you . Take care Anthony PS : if you are on dial up , it is also possible you may not get a satisfactory connection . -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |
