Hi, PSI just notified me of 2 insecurities, of which it has patched 1, but not the sun java jdk 1.6x/6x. the solution button will not do it, and java updates won,t either.the update isfrom 6.0.230.5 to 6.0.240.4. Help would be most grateful.

Hello.
See Maurice Joyce's post here....Java Problems :-
http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/760...
Are you using the latest version of psi 2.0 with auto updates configured ? If so, I had a little trouble with it too....which was cured by re-scanning....it triggered the update.
Hope this helps.....regards,

Not familiar with it....do you use it ?
Java DB 10.5.3.0
The Java DB 10.5.3.0 maintenance release is now available for download. Java DB is a free, fast, robust, full-featured pure Java database that fits in a 2.5MB JAR file. Java DB 10.5.3.0 adds bug fixes plus message localizations to the features introduced in Java DB 10.5.1.

If it proves to be a mistake to remove you can always download again from here :-
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javadb/down...
Personally, I'm running without any Java after some recent reading !!
Hope this helps..........

Glad you're sorted.....did you know you can put your 100% score in " My Profile"...left of page in grey, beneath About ? You can also put useful and repetitive details in your signature box....

"the update isfrom 6.0.230.5 to 6.0.240.4."

you might also want to uninstall java on your system and do a fresh install with the latest build

take care :-)
