Fresh install 2.0.0.3001 When opening the console it just flashes a grey empty box for a second and closes. System tray notifications appear to be functioning. Any ideas? |

Hi , There is a specific XP SP3 bug which can produce your symptoms ; check all the steps in this FAQ , but be sure to scroll down for 2 specific XP steps :- http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... I have been using the PSI for several months whithout any problem. But starting today, I have the same problem as described here. I followed all advices from the faq, but nothing did help. I do have XP SP3, for which some of the hints were meant in particular. I restarted my computer several times hoping that would help, but the PSI just remains verifying the internet connection. It does not tell what's wrong. I am not amused... :-( |

Hello @ator0144 , If you are blocked at "verifying internet ..." , you do not have the same problem as the OP !! Which version of the PSI do you have loaded ?? Right click tray icon and select "About" . If you do not have version 2.0.0.3001 this maybe is causing your problem , you can get up to date using the "Download PSI" link at the top right of this webpage . Hope that is clear . Hi Anthony, You're right, I have not the same a described here, but the same as described as in the faq item you were referring to. I already have 2.0.0.3001 installed. Today it told me after the automatic scan that I had 2 unsecure programs. But now I can't discover anymore which programs it concerns. A few days ago I could still use it and I can't remember having changed anything, neither have I installed new software of any kind, apart from the things that get updated automatically. Hello again Adrie , The PSI does not work well with IE9 Beta ; if you have this installed , try the IE9 RC or go back to IE8 and see what happens . Recheck that you have all the IE settings correctly installed as per the FAQ I linked to (above) . Quite a few posters have overcome a similar problem by updating to 2.0.0.3001 ; as is described in this thread :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/771... so it may be worth your while doing an uninstall and reinstall of the PSI .
