Chrome 10.0.648.127 is the most recent version so I'm just going to ignore for now. Note: I have rescanned at least twice now. Same results. "The version detected of Google Chrome 10.x was 10.0.648.127 while the latest version including one or more security fixes is 10.0.648.127." |

Hi , It can take the PSI a day(s) or two to get it's rules up to date for Google Chrome Browser/OS/Frame especially when there is a platform change (as here from 9.x to 10.x) . In addition Secunia support are heavily committed elsewhere ; so , if you have the latest release of the "Stable" version (see blog link below) showing as the "detected instance" by the PSI you can ignore the warning , as such . http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/ Old version 9.x files will need to be removed (manually) as there are security updates in the 10.x which would make the old 9.x version either "EOL" or "insecure" ; even though "technically" the old .dll files are meant to be unavailable alongside an up to date version , better safe than sorry . Hope that helps . Take care Anthony -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |

Having the same problem... I unistalled 9.0.597.107 using the uninstall that came with it. I tried installing the new chrome 10.0.648.127 and it seemed to work fine except PSI picked it up as being insecure. I then used it's uninstall, and reinstalled it again and rescanned and PSI still says it's insecure?? So far I havn't been able to get any answeres from google either. Oh well, I hope someone finds the cure soon. |

Same here - what annoys me is telling me what version I have, and recommending I upgrade to exactly the same version it already knows I have. Note to Secunia - 10.0.648.127 = 10.0.648.127. If one is secure, the other is too.... | ||||||||

@rove17 and anyone else who does not understand my post of/at 9th Mar 2011 17:46 higher up this thread . The problem is entirely due to Secunia (nothing to do with Google) needing to update their detection rules for the PSI . It has happened in the past with platform updates and can take days to sort out - do not try holding your breath as a cure . Un-installing/deleting version 9.x files is GOOD . For version 10.x , un-installing , reinstalling , rebooting , rescanning the individual programme or running a full system scan , etc., is WASTING YOUR TIME until Secunia change/update the detection rules for Google Chrome display in the PSI . If you cannot live with a less than a 100% score in the PSI , you can set an ignore rule ; but , if it were me , I would wait for Secunia to catch up and report that the latest secure "Chrome Browser Stable Channel" version is 10.0.648.127 (as i type - check the blog link I posted in my erazlier post) . The "Secure Browsing" module usually takes even longer to be reset . I hope that is clear now ; cannot think how else to express it . Anthony -- It always seems impossible until its done.
