OK PEOPLE, I FIGURED IT OUT. YOU NEED TO CLICK "START" TYPE "GOOGLE" RIGHT CLICK "GOOGLE CHROME" AND CLICK "OPEN FILE FOLDER." IT WILL OPEN A FOLDER WHERE GOOGLE CHROME IS INSTALLED. NOW DELETE THE ENTIRE FILE FOLDER 9.0.597.107 NOW RE-SCAN YOUR COMPUTER WITH SECUNIA AND VOILA YOU WILL GET 100% SECUNIA SYSTEM SCORE. GOOGLE CHROME STILL WORKS JUST FINE AFTER YOU DELETE THAT FOLDER. |

HI , It is one way , another (easier) way is to click the [+] to the lhs of the/any problem program (Google Chrome 9.x in this case) and in :- PSI version 1.5.x you will get an expanded page and lower down an "open folder" icon in the "Toolbox" : or PSI version 2.0.x , you will see "detected instances" in the expanded entry and there are two quite small beige/yellowish folder icons to the left of the/each entry; the one without the red blob is the "open folder" icon . clicking the icon will open the folder /file in Explorer . Hope that helps . Anthony PS : Posting in capitals is very tiring to read ; turn the cap lock off , please . -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |

What path does PSI give U? The current stable version of PSI is 2.0.0.3001. If unsure which version U have right click on the Tasktray Icon & select About. The download link to update is here: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... FINDING A FILE PATH From the DASHBOARD page click on SCAN RESULTS. 1. This will list all your programmes with a + to the left of each one. 2. Click the + sign next to the item that U want help with. 3. This will reveal the path under DETECTED INSTANCES. 4. Highlight it then copy (CTRL+C) then paste (CTRL+V)) that path back to the Forum. OR THIS METHOD WHICH GIVES A HELPER MORE INFORMATION 4a Below DETECTED INSTANCES you will see You can double click this row for additional information & options>double click it>a box will appear>click TROUBLESHOOT REPORT>Now highlight the information revealed from START to END & copy it (CTRL+C) then post it to the Forum (CTRL+V) Update 8 22:23 10/03/2011 -- Maurice Windows 7 SP1 64 Bit OS HP Intel Pentium i7 IE 10 for Windows 7 16GB RAM |

I am up to date with Secunia. I ran REVO uninstaller on google chrome and it would not uninstall everything, but by using Unlocker on google update and then deleting Googles file folder and then rebooting - all instances of Google disappeared. I reinstalled google chrome and then ran Secunia - I got a clean bill of health. I have no idea why all of this happened or whythe first two fixes in this thread would not work. Tom |

Sorry, there is no file 9.0.597.107 on my system... The problem as described by others remains: PSI says that 10.0.648.127 has been found - insecure - and that there is a new version, namely 10.0.648.127 which is recommended to install. - I had decided that this problem must be ignored - but on this very latest version of PSI (updated yesterday) I even do not find a way to ignore as it was possible in the past :-( -- Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit SP1 Windows Vista SP2 Windows Updates always up to date Secunia PSI 2.0 including automatic updates |

Hi , You will only have the Chrome 9.x folder/files on your computer if that version was previously nstalled and you have not manually removed the files since installing 10.x . The 10.x version detection by the PSI was corrected by Secunia yesterday ; in the past some users have seen the PSI "slow to react" . I would suggest you run a full system scan (with or without reboot). For the "ignore rule" for an individual programme , you can click the [+] on the lhs next to the "problem programme entry on the "Scan Results" page ; in the expanded display , to the left of the "detected instance" , are two yellowish/beige icons ; the one with the red blob is for the ignore rule whilst the other is to open the folder . Otherwise go Dashboard -> Configuration -> Settings -> Ignore Rules . Hope that helps . Anthony PS: in some/many cases , with the PSI version 2.0.x , you should see the programme update in realtime , confirmed by a tray icon pop-up bubble without a rescan . -- It always seems impossible until its done. Dear Anthony, your answer was absolutely convincing, competent and on top of it friendly - I am very thankful and happy with it!!! The problem has been solved. And you were right. I had installed Chrome only a few days ago so there was no "old version". Unfortunately I didn't think this through... Now I ran a short scan just for Chrome - and it was valued as secure! And I checked the ignore-possibilities and found everything as described by you - great! So I am very pleased because I have been helped so effectively!
