http://windows.php.net/download/

Anyone know of alternative download mirror locations?

Motty

@ motty

Beside the advice from mogs, you can download the php.net from the following site:

http://www.php.net/get/php-5.3.6.tar.bz2/from/a/mi...

Good luck.

Those are Linux versions; the OP wants Windows.

The PHP site was hacked recently. That may be related.

I too have been looking for mirrors, to no avail. If anyone has any links, I'd be thankful for them, as well.

@motty
I've used the site, possibly almost every day for the last six months or more; in using mostly security related articles from it for the CyberClip's thread on the forum.
I also got my IE9 RC and RTW from there with no probs whatever. I havn't seen any bad reports anywhere.

Here is what McAfee Site Advisor*** have/had to say in 2010 :-

http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/softpedia.com

If you scroll down you will see a posted comment from the site owner where it is said that in certain circumstances a "clean" product may have become contaminated but is very/most unlikely .

Any time you are not using the vendors' sites you add some risk ; in this case the vendor's site itself might have been compromised .

Any download you make should best be scanned by your security system - either automatically or by your manual selection ; where possible your security should also be set to check all new processes/components as they start up .

However , you can only go so far and actually run your computer for your needs and nothing is ever 100% secure , apart from death and taxes .

Caveat Emptor .

Anthony

EDIT : 6 other "site advisors" , including Google and Norton , give Softpedia the green light .
