Although Secunia is functioning correctly: scanning, reporting & updating, there are no icons at the top of the window, nor in the various white boxes, only red crosses on white backgrounds. I have uninstalled & reinstalled, to no effect. I realise it could be a Windows problem but it does not appear in any other programme, so far as I have been able to ascertain. Running Windows XP Pro Sp3. All up to date. |

Thanks for replying. The version is 2.0.0.3001. However, I think it must be my problem as I notice that some, not all, of the graphics in my incoming emails have been replaced by the red cross. | ||||||||

A quick look on the web says that many people suffer terribly with similar problems . Here is a Forum post that mentions IE settings for an email problem similar to yours ; the PSI is sensitive to/dependant on IE settings as well , so maybe something to look at :- http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f57/red-x-p... Thank you, Anthony, for the links. Still no luck, I'm afraid. I am using Chrome but checked out the IE8 Security settings, where I found that Scripting was already enabled. I then entered Secunia's address into the Trusted sites panel, as instructed, but that did not help. This problem arose quite recently so if all else fails, I shall do a System Restore. Anne |

Thank you, Maurice. I have just been to the site you suggested but all is still set up as it should be. I half suspect that this problem arose after an update so, as I said to Anthony, I shall do a System Restore and work from there. I am running XP Pro SP3. Chrome. Threatfire firewall. AVG Free 2011 |

System Restore fixed the problem. I had to go back 3 weeks & then, of course, there were updates to replace. I did these & red crosses have not appeared, so it must have been "one of those things". Thanks for your suggestions. Anne |
