Hi.

(1) I have version 10,2,153,1 installed. It's not shown in the Secunia list of Patched programs. Should it?

(2) It's shown in my Control Panel but it doesn't appear in the Adobe folder in Program files in My Computer. Is this normal, please?

(3) Finally, when I updated it on my laptop (Win7), it didn't update in other users' profiles. I had to update it from within their profile. Again, is this normal, please?

1. Both the IE and Firefox plugins are in the scan results for me.
2. Flash is installed in Windows\System32\Macromed.
3. I don't really understand this. Are you using the Chrome browser?

many thanks for your help.

(1) are they in Secure Browsing? As Adobe Flash / Macromedia?

(2) found it - thanks. I was put off by another Flash Folder - Program Files/Adobe/Flash Player.

(3) Usually when I am prompted to update a program, I'm in my profile (Administrator) and the update affects all users. (Occasionally, an update will ask "update all users", but that's quite rare.)

But after I've updated Adobe Flash on my Win7 laptop (IE), my wife then gets the 'update' prompt for it when she logs on under her profile. So I have to give her my ID & Password so that she can update it on hers.

Weird! Any thoughts?

PS I've not installed Chrome yet.

Just doing a few tests for U to confirm what @ddmarshall has said.

At the moment my XP SP3 is showing differently to U.

Cannot remember - is your Windows 7 64 Bit?

I've occasionally had a prompt to update the Firefox plugin after it's been done. I think it's to do with Adobe's autoupdater. As there is only one copy of the plugin, you can just cancel the update prompt.

thanks, both. It's a 64 bit Win7 laptop, Maurice.

My wife doesn't use Firefox, ddmarshall. I think what I'll do is to post my next one from the laptop so I can see if Adobe Flash is listed in the Secunia list there. It'll be tonight, though.

Hello All ,

Would taffy's use of the PSI version 1.9.02 be part of/causing the Win 7 problem in view of the process changes for Admin use/display made in version 2.0.x ??

I can confirm that XP displays (in 2.0.0.3001) Flash as Adobe Flash Player 10.x , with either the suffix (ActiveX) or (NPAPI) , alphabetically and so near the top of the Scan Results page . I only have IE8 displaying in "Secure Browsing" module and again the display is Adobe Flash Player 10.x (Active) and "patched" .

Would you believe , it's raining :((((

Take care

Anthony

I must admit I've got real difficulty in trying to cast my mind back to help anybody with 1.9.0.2 or earlier ! Surely I don't need a system restore at my age ?! Somehow I just can't see taffy as a Luddite either.....maybe it's the first signs of progressive stick in the muddiness ?! And Adobe ?!!!

We're still allowed a little banter from time to time....without being thumbed irrelevant....keep our other faculties active ?

I've just upgraded tp PSI v2 - I can take a hint, Mogs!!

Spot on, Anthony - Adobe Flash is now listed. So tomorrow I'll move up to PSI 2 on my laptop & check if it's listed there.

I'll also check if there are any settings etc for Adobe Flash there (re upgrading Flash for all users.)

laptop Win7: Will upgrade to PSI 2 on it shortly but I'm confident from what you've said that Flash will be on it. Whether or not the latest Flash update has upgraded 'all users' is something that I'll have to check when my wife gets home tonight!
