Secunia PSI scan said Mozilla Firefox needs to be updated from 3.6.13 to 3.6.14. I'm running Firefox ver. 4. I do not have an older version installed and I'm using Secunia PSI ver. 2.0. My OS is MS Windows 7, 32bit. What can I do to correct this issue? HAK |

Hello. Other Firefox users on the forum may be better able to help you......Meanwhile....Are you using the latest version of psi ? 2.0.0.3001....click on the task-bar icon and then About. Psi has detected something......... Finding the filepath :- psi version 2.0 Go to Results from the Dashboard 1/. Click on the + sign alongside the file. 2/. This will reveal the file path. 3/. Post the info back to the forum if uncertain how best to proceed. Hope this is of some help......regards, -- |

I am using Firefox 4 on XP SP3. I just ran the PSI scan, and it detected Firefox 4 in both the Scan Results and Secure Browsing sections. In Secure Browsing it was flagged as Secure for Browsing. The last version of Firefox 3.6 was 3.6.15, should still be available for download if you want it. Have you ever had Firefox 3.6.x installed? The PSI is evidently finding 3.6.13 somewhere on your system, and if you expand the entry in Scan Results it will give you the exact location(s). An old backup, perhaps? Anyway, if you can find the old reference(s) and delete it/them, and confirm that your Firefox 4 is where it should be (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox on my XP system), then the next time you run a scan Firefox 4 should be detected. If still no luck, try downloading a fresh copy of the Firefox 4 installer, and re-installing it. Why the PSI is telling you to upgrade to 3.6.14 and not 3.6.15 or 4.0 is another question, best answered by Secunia. |

Hello HAK , Your problem has occurred a couple of times very recently . Do not use the PSI update link to try to update to 3.6.14 (actually the "last" Ff security patch update for the 3.6.x platform) as this will install it in place of Ff 4.0 . What is the detected instance installation path that the PSI is displaying for version 3.6.13 ?? Anthony -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |

Hello Bundaburra and HAK , If you are concerned/interested in how and why the PSI displays the various platforms and versions and their updates for Mozilla Firefox , you might wish to read (right thru') this thread :- http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/789... Please note that 3.6.16 is the latest 3.6.x platform version and is a bug fix like 3.6.15 and so the PSI still uses 3.6.14 as the security fix base . Hope that is clear enuff , if not ask again . Anthony -- It always seems impossible until its done. Nelson Mandela |

Thank you for your response. My copy of Secunia was one point release back. I also believe Mr Wells last response identified the cause of the problem. I'm OK now. |
