Im Reviving this thread that Secunia Locked.
I little piece of advise from the community:
1. Dont lock threads that a community is showing support for.
2. As developers, dont tell posters of wish lists that you dont think people are going to use a feature simple because you dont think so, and then lock the thread preventing further comments, it just looks really bad on your part.

You also removed the wish list section, preventing people from posting feature ideas.

Are there any plans to extend the functionality of PSI to allow to export the information in tab 'Patched Programs' in *.csv format

Would like to see in such file the following columns:
- Patched Program Name
- Version detected
- Installation Path
- Category of Threat if any
- Hostname
- Username logged on
- Domain-, Workgroup-Name or local

Checkboxes should allow to select
- the file format if others but *.csv like *xml or *.html can be offered
- daily or after scheduled full scan completed or with last full scan results
- a line where path can be entered to store the extracts. Should accept UNC-path on network share
- a line (box) where the file name can be entered
- and if possible option to select if new *.csv will be added to an existing file of same name on the network path or replace it

Same function welcome for 'insecure' and 'auto-update' tabs.

P.S. the Auto-update function works fine for me running TP v1.9.0.2

Its important that logging capabilities for the scan results be added into this product because it allows us to record a list of software that needed to be updated it case we need to refer to it at a later date.

Hi ,

Threads are either locked by the OP voluntarily or they auto lock after 7 days from "the last post" , irrespective of popularity , to prevent impolite tag-on posts and an email bin overloaded with update emails .

Support at support@secunia.com will always unlock a thread upon request (by email) :)) normally only for the OP .

There never was a formal wish list sub-forum (to my memory) but you can always post suggestions here and check out the PSI API sub-forum (listed on the lhs of this page) as per the only thread created to date ;-

http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/761...

To conclude , this is from the FAQ's ;-

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

Hope that is clear enough now .

Anthony

Either way, doesn't sounds like your establishment is interested in accepting feedback from the community of people who use your software.
I think the program is a great idea btw, its sad to see so many companies like yours treat the community as a threat by implementing polices that restrict or minimize constructive feedback. Its a sure sign Secunia doesn't have its act together and living in a bubble of one way communication, doesn't fly in the real world for long.

I do not work for any establishment and certainly not Secunia ; I am a "member" of the "Community" just like you and anyone else who posts to it .

I have absolutely no idea what you are "talking" about and have nothing else to add to my previous post ; you know how to contact Secunia direct if you are not satisfied here .

Take care

Anthony

As a *cough* (we're talking minutes) very new member on this board I kind of agree with @trinsic on this.

IMHO you run a board as a support channel or a support AND feedback forum.

I respect that a company does its own priorties on the development of their product, but then you dont invite the communitys feedback,

Just my 0.20 (inflation) :-)

Hi Anthony, I fully second your opinion. During the years I use PSI and being a member of Forum I never felt that Forum members are treated as a threat by
Secunia staff. On the contrary! I experienced that Secunia staff is friendly in the Forum and very supportive. And, when Secunia staff is absent for some time there is always friendly and professional support by experienced members.
I think that @trinsic isn't long enough active in the Forum and therefore isn't really in the position to have a unbiased opinion about the Forum.

Hello "all".
It "sounds" to me reading the foregoing that "trinsic" missed a lot of feedback when he went missing !

For a lot of the time since TP; psi was in Beta...I remember Support Staff being present every day helping/listening and ticketing suggestions for the techies. A phenomenal amount amount of input, support and back up for a phenomenal free program.
The problems that we see on the forum are probably representitive of the minority of the Secunia community at any one time.
I too second what Anthony has stated and Leendert's comment......Secunia did a great job of putting together a lot of peoples' wishes. The forum has never been a stranger to suggestion and lively/open debate/discussion.....albeit sometimes we may be a little cryptic !
