After I upgraded 2.0.0.2001 to 2.0.0.3002 the tray icon stayed red, even though my score was 100%. Manual scan also didn't work. I could open the Scan menu, but clicking on Scan now didn't have any effect.

So I uninstalled and downgraded back to 2.0.0.2001. All is well now...

Hello.
I upgraded to the 3002 version...tho' known bug with it still showing as 3001....only one issue it seemed to have fixed : namely that of a ballon appearing at the start of a scan with the previous result ! Scans work okay...unless for some reason you prematurely stop scan and try to restart. I can live with it for the time being...Secunia are aware of the issues, so I'm sure they'll soon be sorted.
Curious tho'...when you went back to 3001....did you still have the early ballon showing at start of a scan ?

I'm sorry to say I can't remember... (I also tried uninstalling PSI 3002 with RevoUninstaller, rebooting and installing again, but this didn't work either.)

That's okay...it was only curiosity. As things stand at the moment, you are probably better sticking with a working version until a few more wrinkles get ironed out.
I presume from the details accompanying your posts...user since January...that you're probably aware of the additional paragraphs concerning XP in the newer FAQ's ? If that is not the case the link is here :-
http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal... See the latter paragraphs.
Regards,

I already searched this forum and the FAQ, but haven't found a solution for my problem.

The Secunia PSI is stuck at "Verifying Internet connection..." and won't start. What can I do?

This isn't my problem. PSI .3002 starts and an Internet connection is verified, but I can not scan manually. Clicking the Start scan button has no effect.

No worries, perhaps I'll try installing 3002 on another system (or simply wait for a new build to install).

Yep......realized that; but sometimes a change in a setting has resulted in a fix. It was just that I wasn't certain that you'd re-checked the new FAQ's. At each update of psi it usually seems that one or two XP users don't manage a resolution. I just find it a bit strange that the change from 3001 to 3002 ( a minor release ) should have engendered the reaction you've had.
I've always let Secunia do the uninstalling of the previous version....it's always seemed to do a good job of clearing up after itself....no left over files etc.. Hopefully, Support may pick up on this thread tomorrow.

Hi,

Please reset your settings in Internet Explorer, then run through this item of our FAQ: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal...

Has this resolved the problem?

I don't know what I did different this time, but the problem seems to have solved itself. I uninstalled tor the 5th time or so, using RevoUninstaller's Advanced Mode, rebooted, installed 2.0.0.3002, rebooted and it stills works. The tray icon is green and I can manually scan.

Gremlins?
