PSI v1.0 is misidentifying VMware Workstation v6.0.5-109488 as v6.0.3. I upgraded from v6.0.3 as recommended by PSI, rebooted, and verified that the app is indeed v6.0.5 by executing it and getting info in the About box. When I get the file details from Explorer it shows:

File version 6.0.398.0
Product version 6.0.5 build-109488

Perhaps VMware didn't completely update the binaries info, and PSI is only pulling the file version, instead of the product version. Also, how about verifying with a hash??

Hi,

It is not because the psi is picking up a backup copy or another leftover file somewhere on your harddrive?

Usually this is the case when the psi continues to pickup a version. Could you check the path to where the psi detected this and let us know the result?

No, it's not picking up a backup. The path is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation

I used PSI to open the path and get the file details listed in my original message.

Did you run a full scan with PSI ?

Sometimes PSI changes its mind after a full scan...

Yes, I have done a full scan several times, and rebooted.
