HEEEEEELLP!!!!
I have just started using Secunia and have had great success with some downloads but it still says that I have a threat on the above version of Java. It says to 'download here' for update and it opens a page with lots of Java updates. Link below
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
but which one. Can someone please take pity and just give me the one link to get the correct download.... I know not what I do....
Cheers,
nitrochic |

If you really need to keep this very old version of Java,
I would click on the Link Download J2SE JRE on the web page you told us about.
But most of the time normal windows users needs only the latest version of Java, and needs to uninstall all older version.
I've read in another thread about a tool which could help you doing this:
(unknown source)Download JavaRa:
http://raproducts.org
Run it to remove Sun Java remnants and download the latest V6 R11 release of the application.

Thank you mapych. Just one question... when I click on the link it has
download windows binary link
dowload source code (written in C++)
screenshot (.png file)
Do I download them all or am I looking in the wrong place?
Cheers. |

I just tried JavaRa, and I find it a little bit too technical for normal users.
could you tell me the path Secunia PSI gives you when hovering on top of Sun Java JRE 1.4.x ? |

sorry, not the download path,
but the path of the file PSI detects as beeing outdated.
it appears in a little yellow box when you move your mouse on top of the + sign on the left of line.
or in the section Installation Path if you displayed the detail of the problem.
