Back on 26 Nov, I posed a question about PSI starting up very very slowly.

How old or fast is your PC ?
How many other tools are loading near the windows clock ?
and last (and perhaps best) question:
If you quit PSI and start it agains from the Start Menu, how fast does it start ?

First....thanks for the reply....it is definitely appreciated.
Next...my system.
Windows XP SP3, fully updated as of today.
Microstar MS-7125 Motherboard
Phoenix Bios
AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
NVIDIA 6600 GT Graphics Card
2 GB Ram
Dual Hard Drives
Zone Alarm Firewall
EST NOD32 Anti-virus
WinPatrol System Monitor
Malwarebytes Anti-malware monitor
System has been tweaked to only 18 other windows services running with 80% memory free.
I do not start PSI with system startup. I use it only on a regular basis (once a week) to check for out-of-date programs that may need updating.
Once PSI has started, I do a new scan which only takes approximately a minute or so in which it collects information on 107 programs.
Everything works great once PSI has cranked up....it's just that the startup takes more than a minute or so for the screen to come up to tell me it's checking for internet connectivity and then connecting to Secunia. That process takes approximately 5-10 seconds more and then the main screen pops up with my past scans/results and it's ready for use.
