Hello.
You have the latest version Stable Chrome....but as version '60 was a bug fix only; psi goes by the latest security fix which was the '57 version. There's more explanation on the following thread here :-
http://secunia.com/community/forum/thread/show/854...
Hope it's satisfactory for you.....please enquire again if requiring further info/clarification.......regards,

I got the same problem. Furthermore I received a message of second GC installation in:

C:\%APPDATA%\Google\Chrome\Application\10.0.648.20 5\chrome.dll, version 10.0.648.205

I deinstalled this version some weeks ago and deleted the complete path manually. This message appeared after installing the actual 11.0.696.60 version. and a rescan of the program.

Do I have to worry anout it?

Regards

OS: MS Windows XP, Media Center Edition Version 2002, SP 3

If you're sure you have removed the '205 version.....it might be best to reboot and do a full scan. Tho' if psi continues to detect you'll need to follow the file path to the old file/version and delete.
Hope this helps........regards,

As mentioned, I already manually deleted the '205 version some weeks ago (following the path and deleting the whole folder of the version) So that's why I was surprised, that this version was detected again.

Nevertheless, I installed the latest PSI version (19.04. if I remember correctly) and made a new scan. Now this problem seems to be solved.

So you are using the latest psi version.....2.0.0.3003 ? Shown by clicking on the taskbar icon and then About.
The removal of the earlier Chrome file had possibly not "registered"....or you had to remove again (?)....your post is not exactly clear.
The main thing is that the problem is cleared for you tho'.
In future, tho' it may sometimes be the case that an issue may seem the same as 'pon a thread already running ; it is always best to start your own thread; as the originator of one you tag onto, could close it at anytime.....it can often cause confusion.....see Create Thread on the left of the page.

This program was detected as Insecure, it is strongly recommended that you apply the latest security patch from the vendor of the program.

The version detected of Google Chrome 11.x was 11.0.696.60 while the latest version including one or more security fixes is 11.0.696.57.

Secunia PSI is not up to date.

The reason has already been given earlier in this thread.....'57 was the last version fixing security issues ( which is what psi is concerned with )....'60 was a bug-fix release addressing no security issues. The policy of offering/advising updates on those grounds is a constant factor within psi. In this case, if you have the '57 or '60 Chrome Stable version you are secure.....but as long as you have the '57; psi has done it's job! I hope that clarifies the matter for you.
I'd be surprised nevertheless, if the detection rules aren't amended shortly to show the '60 version......as has been fairly usual this issue crops up at weekends when Support are out of office.
Regards,

That's okay.....I just wished to make you aware that you have the option at anytime...particularly when your inbox is fuller than necessary. By all means leave it open until you feel the matter resolved...when psi change the detection rules.

Why can't PSI just do some simple arithmetic, and decide that 11.0.696.60 > 11.0.696.57?

Secunia is still reporting wrong..

If .60 is as secure .57 then PSI should report "secure" not "insecure"

PSI is reporting wrong..

Last edited on 5th May, 2011 09:15 This issue (with Google Chrome 11.x.x.60 being shown as insecure) has been fixed, quite some time ago.

Run a full rescan and the problem will be fixed.
