This has nothing to do with PSI but thought I might get some idea as to what is wrong.

When I scan on my HP Scanjet 4890, the text prints smaller than the original. I scanned a family tree book, saved it, and burned it to a cd and had the book printed at Office Depot from the cd. The text on the printed page was 1" shorter at the bottom of the page than the original page. This also happens when I scan a document and print it on my home printer. It only happens on scanned documents.

Does anyone have a clue as to why this happens? I would love to correct this problem. I bought the scanner in 2006 and the warranty is no longer active.
I am not gadets & devices savvy.

Thank you so much for any help you can give me. newby

Hi,

Have you by chance set a margin in the printer configuration? Or the scanner config?

Obviously this is not the kind of support we actually offer, so I'm afraid that's my only guess.

E. Peterson, thank you for your reply. I will have to wait until someone visits me and have them see if they can find a solution. I can't find any kind of configuring to set margins or anything similar. I just took a chance that perhaps someone knew just what to do if they had the same scanner.

Thanks again! newby

HP released on 27/04/2011 the latest release of Diagnostic utility, and you can grab it from:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/S...

Maybe this utility will help solve your problem.

Good luck
