It says I have a CAT4 threat by having Word 2003 installed. The path indicated is where I have Word installed. Microsoft Update says everything is fine.
Any ideas? |

PSI shows Word 2003 SP3 as insecure. The Download Solution link sends me to MS Security Update for Microsoft Office Word 2003 (KB956357)
But Microsoft Update says no updates needed and Office Update says I need Update for Microsoft Office 2003 (KB949074)
Both these updates error and do not install.
I think I'll wait a day to see how this one sorts out.

I have the EXACT same problem too.
Update installed successfully yet PSI says it's insecure.
Downloaded the patch only to have it show it's already installed!!!
This is either a PSI problem or MS problem.
More than likely it's a PSI problem with information being incorrect
in their detection database.
So yea, wait a few days or so & see if their database is updated to resolve this issue.
Btw, I didn't have any issues before I installed PSI! LOL
This is why I think its PSI instead of MS updates or Office updates. |

It's a mixed bag. PSI actually found some things I needed to update and found some others where Microsoft says there is no problem to fix. On balance, I think it's a real plus, especially considering it's version 1.0. |

I believe that Secunia has fixed the Word problem. My system was doing the same thing. Now it is showing clean. Try running a manual scan that should show a clean system. |

I believe you are correct. My scan came back clean for Word 2003. |

There is a series of these errors covering Word, Excel, Access, Office 07 Compatibility Pack, and Snapshot Viewer. Always the same issue across all the threads. I did a manual scan and that cleared all except Access. |
