I get this message :
The version detected of OpenOffice.org 3.x was 3.2.9476.500 while the latest version including one or more security fixes is 3.3.0.

Is their a portable version for 3.3.0 or a patch?

thank you

Sorry - I understand what U mean now. Oracle do not produce a portable copy of this freeware.

A download link for portable is here:

http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=212

Note the restriction - my reading is that Oracle have prevented vendors from updating to 3.3 so U are stuck with version 3.2.

PortableApps.com now distribute LibreOffice rather than OpenOffice:
http://portableapps.com/apps/office/libreoffice_po...
The version is 3.3.2

LibreOffice is a fork of OpenOffice by developers who broke away when Oracle took over Sun. It seems to be preferred by the Open Source community.

There are no Secunia Advisories for LibreOffice

1. Secunia software told me that OpenOffice is insecure.
2. From my experience Openoffice is more stable then
LibroOffice which many times try to correct files or recover them -- even though their appear no reason to do it. or suddenly it is not wiling to operate at all.

I have Win7 64 bit

thank you

Hi ,

I don't know where you are up to , but I can confirm that version 3.2.x is "insecure" as per the Secunia Advisory 40775 and the solution (scroll down) is to update to version 3.3.x :-

http://secunia.com/advisories/40775/

The latest full version on (my) PC displays as 3.3.0. 000330m20(build 9567) in the Programme's own "About" and the PSI displays this on the Scan Results" page as version 3.3.9556.500 .

As has been said earlier by ddm and Maurice , there is not a specific update available for Open Office portable version 3.2.x .

Do you need more advice ??

Anthony
