Hi friends new to this forum. I have been using this product for few around one month... It is great. Just i need some information regarding autoupdate. Do this really work ? i mean it seem unable to download and install google crome. It just said to install solution manually. And PSI doesnot seem to download if there are new program version available. After installing PSI i manually program updated winpatrol, Any video converter, ccleaner etc. Is something wrong with my setting?? do i need to reinstall..... Please help PS: under configuration>setting> enable automatic program update is enabled. |

atm only some software are able to silent update (auto update), which takes a little while, but works fine. However, most software still requires you to install the software yourself. The PSI will tell you that the software needs to be updated, and give you the "Install solution" in the right side, which will take to directly to the download page of the vendor (and in some cases even start the downloading for you) and you'll only have to apply the update. not all software are supported by the auto update. Hope this answered your question. if you have any further questions or disclarifications, please let us know. -- Kind regards, Munib Rehman Secunia Support Secunia PSI http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal |

Thank you Mr. Rehman for your quick reply. One further thing do you know about the future plan for PSI. I mean will it be able to do the download all by itself say in the next build of PSI. Not just the patch but also the whole new program update for all the software. Atleast all the major widely used software. With regards Gautam |

The PSI is a vulnerability scanner and we do not currently have any plans to change this. If you are looking for a general update manager there are already many free alternatives available on the internet. |
