Im sending this from my usb-hd install of Backtrack 4 as my main install of Win7 is completly unresponsive.. I borrowed it to my younger sister for a few days so she could complete an essay and got it back extremely slow. Virus scans turned up nothing, refused to update... So i tried repairing my instal of Bit defender and restarting.. but its been blue screening all day. tossed in a repair disk, but it doesnt see the hd. any assistance would be great, I can see the actual hd In Bt4 i just cant mount it. thanks guys! |

Read through the information at the link I posted. You will be booting from a Windows 7 installation disc. It is also possible you have a corrupt partition table. In that case you will need the details of your partition table, either recorded or remembered a partition repair tool There are a few tools around; one is mentioned here: http://www.dtidata.com/resourcecenter/2008/01/25/f... You need to know exactly what you are doing to operate such a tool. |

Hi , Your unsupervised loan of your computer and it's returning with a slow running system and your not being able to update your security software , including having problems getting to their - and other - websites to reinstall , etc. , with collateral blue screening are classical symptoms associated with malware infections . You might look for some other expert advice here (or a similar forum you may know of) :- http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ Let us know your progress .
