PSI seems to be detecting several instances of the Flash 8 files which are included with Dreamweaver MX 2004.
c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration\Flash Player\Flash.ocx
c:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration\Flash Player\NPSWF32.dll
(and two other instances in the user directory related to the same Dreamweaver program)
I don't know that it's possible to update these included versions. Are they any sort of a risk, or is it just the main system installation of Flash that you need to worry about (which is, of course, current on my machine).
As an aside, PSI apparently cannot detect WinZip 12 properly, because it's flagging it as WinZip 8.x and telling me I need to download WinZip 11.2 to bring my system current. WTF? |

I update the main flash and java, then copy the files PSI flags in other locations (usually, i.a. npswf32.dll and java.exe) from the updated location, overwriting the old flagged versions. flash9(e/f).ocx I remove using the flash uninstaller then update to the latest version direct from adobe.
I've not had any problems with Dreamweaver not being able to use the overwritten versions.....
It's a hassle tho'. Maybe adobe need to get their updaters in order so that all the apps get updated. |

Good to know, I'll give that a try. I didn't know if messing with that would break Dreamweaver or not. |

Thank you both for that interesting question and the how-to!
