I have a 99% with one Microsoft updated needed for Microsoft XML Core Services showing. When i click on the update Windows says everything is up to date, is this an instance where i need to delete a file?

It's difficult to say with the lack of information. But you probably need this:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?...

It has to be downloaded manually; it won't come via Windows Update.

The Troubleshoot Report will help. FAQ 18 tells you how to access it. Copy and paste it into your reply.

Secunia doesn't allow you to copy and paste it like they suggest, but here it is.

You need to download MSXML 4.0 SP3 from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?...

Download and run msxml.msi

There is a performance update that you can install afterwards:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?...

You may need to restart and do a full scan to get your PSI score to 100%.

Do a restart and full scan. See if PSI is happy.

Overlapped you there. Leave it. Windows Update will install it if it needs to.

I think other users have found with Windows 7 you have to save the download and then right click it and click Run as Adminstrator. It's not a security update, so there's no rush. If you leave it, Windows Update should install it for you eventually.
