  • Jesper Johansen, Chairman of the Board in Secunia and Partner in Dansk Kapitalanlæg
  • Jesper Johansen

    Jesper has the overall strategic capacity and has several years of experience from working with, and developing, growth companies. He has a strong financial background, as well as the strategic mindset from McKinsey.

    Currently, Jesper holds the position as Partner at Dansk Kapitalanlæg, a Danish private equity company investing in and developing knowledge intensive Danish growth companies with a turnover of approximately DKK 100-500m (EUR 15-70m).Today, Dansk Kapitalanlæg has 6 companies in its portfolio and a capital commitment of DKK 1.1b from a strong group of owners that, among others, count Danske Bank, ATP. PFA, Nordea Liv & Pension, augustinus, Danica og LD.

    Jesper’s career started as an equity analyst with Bjørnskov & Co and later as management consultant at McKinsey. From 1997 to 2007, Jesper worked within the field of investment banking, holding the position as Associate at Enskilda Securities, Founder and Owner of Capitellum, and finally Managing Director at Straumur Investment Bank from 2005 to 2007.

    Jesper has an M.Sc. in Finance from Copenhagen Business School (CBS), and currently serves as a board member of Reason A/S.

    Niels Henrik Rasmussen

    As Deputy Chairman, Corporate Executive President, Niels Henrik not only serves as part of the Secunia Board; he also has a very active role at Secunia with a focus on vision, markets, and analysts. He holds responsibility for corporate strategy, strategic alliances, and strategic partners, as well as building relations with strategic players.

    Niels Henrik founded Secunia in Autumn 2002 with a strong track record of more than 15 years in the field of building and developing businesses. From Autumn 2002 to mid 2011 Niels Henrik served as CEO; developing Secunia from an entrepreneurial start up company to an established corporate business of more than 100 employees with strong year-on-year revenue growth and a high EBITDA, and gaining DKA Capital (a leading Danish private equity fund) and Preben Damgaard as strategic owners of 31% of Secunia by October 2010.

    Prior to founding Secunia in 2002, Niels Henrik founded IT Recruitment (acquired by PwC). Niels Henrik has also served as CEO of Virus112, while simultaneously working as Sales President of VeriSign Affiliate Europe.

    Niels Henrik started his career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, also contracting jobs within business development and strategy for Ask Alex (Investors of Internet Ventures Scandinavia and TDC Innovation) and Thomas Høiland Auctions.

    Niels Henrik has a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School.

  • Preben Damgaard, Member of the Board in Secunia and Owner of Damgaard Company
  • Preben Damgaard

    Preben has more than twenty years of experience within the IT industry, having a solid track record of building channels and scaling a business. He has tried to undergo the transformation of making an entrepreneurial business into a corporate entity, understanding and working with a changing organization.

    Currently Preben works as an advisor and investor, helping IT entrepreneurs grow their businesses through his own company Damgaard Company. Prior to this he co-founded Damgaard Data, which was listed in 1999 and subsequently merged with Navision in 2000, and two years later was sold to Microsoft for more than DKK 10 billion. In 2011, Preben became an investor in Secunia by making a million dollar contribution.

    Today Preben sits on a number of Danish boards, holding the position as chairman in Heartmade A/S and Proactive A/S, and as board member in Axcess A/S, 7N A/S, A.O. Johansen A/S, Scalepoint A/S, and Excitor A/S.

  • Lars Neupart, Member of the Board in Secunia and Founder & CEO of Neupart
  • Lars Neupart

    Lars has extensive experience from the IT security industry, as well as from starting and developing businesses. He is recognized as a pioneer within the IT security industry, having co-founded Neupart & Munkedal/ Vigilante in the later 1990s, among others. Lars has more than 20 years of valuable experience.

    Currently, Lars holds the position as CEO of the company Neupart, which he also founded in 2002. Prior to this he co-founded and was the Chief Alliance Officer of Vigilante, and from 1993 to 1997 he worked as Director of System Test.

    Lars’ career started as a software developer at Ericsson and System Test Manager at Dataco, giving him a solid technical understanding.

    Lars holds a B.Sc. in Data Communication and Engineering from the Danish Technical University (DTU), and currently serves as a board member of ITEK and Neupart A/S.

  • Thomas Zeihlund

    Thomas Zeihlund is the CEO of Secunia with overall responsibility for continuing Secunia’s strong global growth and further developing Secunia's business, organisation, and sales. His key focus areas are therefore People, Performance, and Predictability. Thomas reports to the Board of Directors.

    Due to a background in management and finance, Thomas is highly experienced in internationalisation and partnerships with companies similar to Secunia. Thomas previously served as CFO at Telenor Denmark, which is the second largest Telco in Denmark. Prior to his career at Telenor, Thomas worked as CFO for Ascio Technologies Inc. From 2000 to 2004, Thomas was employed as Business Manager at Microsoft Business Solutions.

    Thomas earned both his M.Sc. in Business Economics & Auditing and MBA from Copenhagen Business School. He also completed a management education program at INSEAD.

  • Thomas Kristensen

    As Chief Security Officer, Thomas has the overall responsibility for Secunia's Research and internal IT units, and is also responsible for security evangelism. Thomas has more than ten years of experience within the IT security industry, representing a leading resource within the fields of vulnerabilities and Vulnerability Intelligence.

    Thomas is a key contributor to Secunia's success, being the no. 1 provider of reliable and accurate Vulnerability Intelligence worldwide, as well as the development of the Secunia scanner technology, which is the market's most comprehensive and accurate non-intrusive scanner solution for automatic detection and elimination of vulnerable applications (Microsoft and 3rd party).

    Prior to co-founding Secunia in 2002, Thomas was responsible for the Technical Department at PortSecurity A/S, until 2001 where he was appointed interim-IT Manager for Virus 112 A/S, with responsibilities within product development and the Technical Department. Following, Thomas worked for Virus 911 Ltd., responsible for building the UK division.

    Thomas holds a Bachelor degree from West Zealand Business School.

  • Charlotte Bender, Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
  • As CFO at Secunia, Charlotte drives and manages the company’s day-to-day finance & accounting operations and structure. She is also responsible for forecasting and overseeing Secunia’s long-term financial strategy.

    Charlotte has gained extensive experience in the auditing and finance arenas throughout her career. Prior to joining Secunia, Charlotte was CFO at Quartz+Co (formerly Quartz Strategy Consultants A/S) and also Finance Manager at Microsoft Business Solutions (formerly Navision). She was also previously Head of Department for non-life insurance accounting at Danica and Auditor at KPMG Denmark.

    Charlotte’s educational background comprises an MSc in Business Administration & Auditing (Cand.merc.aud) from Copenhagen Business School and a BSc in Economics & Business Administration (HA) from Århus School of Business. She has also completed several industry leadership and management programmes.

  • Carsten Eiram

    As Chief Security Specialist, Carsten holds the dual responsibility of developing and managing the Secunia Research unit, as well as maintaining close dialogue with the software vendors, thereby ensuring both the quality and integrity of Secunia's work.

    Carsten is a key-contributor to the high technical quality and accurateness of the Secunia advisories and it is his key responsibilities to ensure that Secunia continues to be the most respected and trustworthy provider of Vulnerability Intelligence and most active research house worldwide. Carsten is also a very active researcher himself.

    Carsten has a great multi-cultural team of some of the best researchers in the world that he manages with great motivation. Carsten is a member of the editorial board of CVE, where his opinions are highly acknowledged. Prior to joining Secunia in 2003, Carsten worked as Security Team Leader in a Verisign Affiliate.

  • Maria Eriksen-Jensen, VP of Business Development and Marketing
  • Maria Eriksen-Jensen

    As VP of Business Development and Marketing, Maria has the dual responsibility of conducting business development, aligned with the strategy of Secunia, as well as developing the marketing unit and the marketing activities for external communication.

    Prior to joining Secunia in 2009, Maria co-founded IDEALIZER, a danish consulting company, specialised in writing business plans and conducting market analysis. From 2005 to 2008 Maria worked at Russell Reynolds Associates as a Research Assistant.

    Maria holds a B.Sc. in International Business and an M.Sc. in Finance & Strategic Management from Copenhagen Business School.

  • Michael H. Zaman, VP of Sales & Co-founder
  • Michael Zaman

    As Vice President of Large Account Sales in Secunia, Michael has the overall responsibility for the sales unit that maintains and develops the largest accounts in Secunia's portfolio. Michael has more than ten years of sales and development experience, building and developing sale units into high performers that consistently improve and exceed budgets. In Secunia, Michael heads a team of competent and dedicated Sale Representatives, as well as managing the Customer Retention Centre.

    Michael is a key contributor to Secunia's successful, direct, market approach, holding an outstanding sales track-record, and network of Security executives, within Fortune500 and Global 2000 companies. This is facilitated by his unique sales competencies and extensive industry expertise and acknowledgement.

    Prior to co-founding Secunia in 2002, Michael was Key Account and Sales Manager at Virus 112 A/S (a unit of Eurotrust A/S), selling IT-security solutions to both SMEs and Large accounts.

  • Thomas Piil

    As Vice President of Sales, Thomas manages the sales unit targeting the SME segment with the Corporate Software Inspector (CSI) solution. Thomas has more than ten years of experience as a top performing sales manager in the IT security space, building and managing sales teams. In Secunia, Thomas manages a team of highly motivated and competent sales representatives, approaching new potential Secunia CSI customers. Thomas is a key contributor to Secunia's success, holding an outstanding sales track-record, selling into Fortune500 companies and institutions worldwide. This is facilitated by his hands-on experience and unique sales competencies.

    Prior to co-founding Secunia in 2002, Thomas worked as Sales and Development Manager in Virus112 A/S, and was following responsible for building the UK division of Virus 911 Ltd. Thomas did his military service in the Royal Lifeguard, where he was named soldier of the month for endurance and leadership.

  • Jakob Balle, VP of Product Development & Co-founder
  • Jakob Balle

    As VP of Product Development, Jakob is responsible for Secunia's in-house Development unit, developing and managing new product releases and product updates. Jakob's primary focus is to ensure a high level of applicability and usability in the solutions, maintaining Secunia as a market-driven company. Jakob heads a team of highly skilled developers that always delivers outstanding quality.

    Jakob is a key contributor to the Vulnerability Intelligence solutions and the development of the unique scanner technology. Latest, Jakob has, together with his team, successfully managed to develop Secunia's Corporate Software Inspector integration with Microsoft WSUS, allowing Secunia to enter the field of Patch Management.

    Prior to co-founding Secunia in 2002, Jakob worked as a Programmer at Virus 112 A/S.

  • Brian Birkvald

    Brian has had a long distinguished career in defence and corporate enterprise security spanning almost 23 years. He brings together the talents of business, Compliance, Security, intelligence, privacy.

    As Security Partner Director at Secunia, Brian is responsible for coordinating Secunia business from a Compliance point of view, include client relationship management, Market development strategy, client relationships and expectation management. Engagement with Enterprise costumers, federal, state and international relations with private and public sectors cyber security partners through his distinguished career and Network.

    Experience covers, Security and Risk Management, design, and implementation, sales, auditing, networks, framework, standards and systems, vulnerability management, Patch Management, VPN, PKI, Security Policy and Procedures (SPP), Anti-virus, computer forensics, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). During his career, Brian gained experience in the full project lifecycle from project management, business analysis, design and build through to implementation. He undertakes C level presentations of results, being able to translate low level technical findings into business level implications.

    Prior to Secunia, Brian was Corporate Quality, Compliance & Security Manager at NNIT, where his duties included ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 compliancy. Before NNIT he served as Head and Manager of IBM Denmark Security Group, the largest Security Centre of excellence in Denmark. Brian joined IBM Denmark A/S as Security Principal in Marts 2003. Before IBM, Brian was Security Manager/Consultant manager for Eterra A/S Denmark, Senior Security Consultant at Fischer & Lorenz.

    Brian has served as Supervisory Special Security Consultant in NATO at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Computer Forensic and Computer Crime Lab (COMPUSEC). He left the Danish Military after serving more than 16 years for the Danish government.

  • Hans Christian Bothmann

    As head of marketing at Secunia, Hans Christian’s main responsibilities focus on building Secunia’s international marketing strategy and competitive position through a wide set of marketing channels.

    Hans Christian brings strong business acumen and broad international marketing management experience from the high technology industry gained from country, regional as well as global roles spanning all aspects of marketing.

    Before joining Secunia Hans Christian worked with several global software vendors and brands including Accenture, SAS Institute, and Microsoft.

    Hans Christian studied marketing management at Copenhagen Business School and East Carolina University and has worked internationally on several occasions in the United Kingdom and Germany.

  • Karolina Mikkelsen, Operations Manager
  • Karolina is Operations Manager at Secunia, responsible for the continuous development of the company’s Lead Management department, Customer Support Center (CSC), and core CRM system. Karolina also successfully built and managed Secunia’s Customer Retention Center (CRC) when she first joined the company in 2008.

    Karolina’s extensive background in Sales and Sales Management provides an inherent knowledge and understanding of the unique demands associated with an agile sales organisation, which is vital to her area of responsibility. Prior to joining Secunia, Karolina was Sales Manager for the Inbound & Outbound teams at Dell. She also previously worked with Secunia’s founders at Virus112 (Eurotrust), establishing the Swedish office as Country Manager.

    Karolina’s educational background includes a BA in International Business Economics & Language from Copenhagen Business School.

  • Morten R. Stengaard, Director, Product Management & Quality Assurance
  • Morten is responsible for Secunia’s product management and QA function, defining Secunia’s product roadmap and ensuring that it is both commercially- and market-driven. In addition to this, he oversees Secunia’s Customer Support team who are responsible for delivering outstanding customer support.

    Prior to joining Secunia, Morten worked as Product Manager for the security software company BullGuard Ltd and Business Development Manager for the investment company Kukula Capital. He also co-founded a market analysis consultancy firm.

    Morten holds a B.Sc. in International Business (IB) and an M.Sc. in Finance & Strategic Management (FSM), both from Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
