e-Crime Congress 2011 round-up

14:44 CET, 21st March 2011 By Secunia.

This year’s e-Crime Congress in London (15th – 16th March) was another excellent, successful event for Secunia. We are already looking forward to the next one.

Stefan Frei at e-Crime Congress 2011

Our presence at eCrime generated a great buzz which resulted in a large volume of traffic to the Secunia booth to see our live demos of the Secunia VIM and the Secunia CSI. This in turn generated a significant amount of prospects interested in our award-winning solutions. The mix of participants was extremely focused on our area of expertise: Vulnerability Intelligence, Vulnerability Assessment, and Patch Management.

A particular highlight was the presentation “Fixing the Fundamental Failures of End-Point Security” by Stefan Frei, Secunia’s Research Analyst Director,  which was exceptionally well-received and attended by 350 people – the maximum capacity for the venue’s auditorium. The presentation created a talking point amongst attendees; resulting in valuable, positive feedback and lots of interesting questions.

The key learning points of the presentation include:

  • The mechanics of vulnerability multiplication
  • The easy prey for cybercriminals
  • Protective measures when the perimeter failed
