Copenhagen, Denmark – January 15, 2012 - Secunia, the leading provider of IT security solutions that enable businesses and private individuals to manage and control vulnerability threats, today announced that the company is partnering with IT security reseller Satisnet.

"The UK is a priority market for Secunia and now the time is right to team up with a strong, security-focused partner like Satisnet. Until now, Secunia’s business with the UK has been conducted from our Copenhagen headquarters, but we are now ready to put our feet firmly on UK ground. We choose to work with Satisnet because we are confident that they can contribute to our efforts to protect organisations and educate on vulnerability intelligence, vulnerabilities in third-party software and security patches," said Thomas Zeihlund, Secunia’s CEO.

The UK is an attractive market for a security company like Secunia because, in terms of security, UK organisations are very mature. One reason is that there are more companies in the UK who need to address American compliance standards than is the case in other European countries, because many large US corporations use the UK as a stepping stone into Europe and a base of operations in the region.
This translates into UK organisations being a great deal more focused on dealing with the threats posed by vulnerabilities and implementing patch management strategies.
As recent Secunia software analysis, based on Secunia’s more than 6 million PSI users, demonstrates, UK organisations are right to focus on patching their IT infrastructure:

BYOD trend leaves UK organizations vulnerable
More and more employees bring their own devices to work and as Secunia’s analysis shows, three of the most popular programs on private PCs in the UK (Java 6, Apple QuickTime7 and Adobe Flash Player 11) remain unpatched on one third of the PCs – even though they are vulnerable, and even though patches are available. Effectively, UK corporate IT infrastructure is at risk from these endpoints that are connected to it, which means that an intelligent patch management solution is required to remediate vulnerability issues.

"We here at Satisnet have been providing patch management solutions for the last 10 years in the UK. Despite purchasing patching tools, many corporates struggle to patch effectively. The main issues customers face is not having the operational processes and resources in place to implement an efficient Patch Management strategy; Secunia CSI changes the game. It basically let’s you use your existing software deployment/update tools, resources and process. Simple, but immensely effective!"  says John McCann, Satisnet Managing Director.

"We are expecting a great deal from our partnership with Satisnet, who we know to be a highly professional, dedicated company. It has been crucial to us to bide our time and carefully choose the right partner, and I feel confident that Satisnet is the right match for us. They are very experienced in their field, and are experts at providing the right security solutions to their customers. I am certain that our customers will receive all the support and information they require to make the most of our patch management and vulnerability solutions," said Secunia CEO Thomas Zeihlund.
