4) Description of Vulnerability

Secunia Research has discovered a security issue in phpBugTracker,
which can be exploited by malicious users to compromise a vulnerable
system.

The security issue is caused due to the "add_attachment()" function
in attachment.php allowing the upload of files with arbitrary
extensions to a folder inside the web root. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a PHP file.

Successful exploitation requires "Developer" permissions.

5) Solution

Restrict access to the "attachments/" directory (e.g. via .htaccess).
