A vulnerability has been discovered in Microsoft Windows, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the Remote Access Phonebook (rasphone.exe) loading the Microsoft HTML Help application (hh.exe) in an insecure manner and can be exploited by tricking a user into e.g. opening a PBK file located on a remote WebDAV or SMB share.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires some user interaction.
The vulnerability is confirmed on a fully patched Windows XP SP3 system. Other versions may also be affected.
