CVE Reference(s):

Description

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in libreswan, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to manipulate certain data and by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

1) An error when handling IKE packets in the "process_packet()" method (pluto/demux.c) can be exploited to cause a restart of libreswan via a specially crafted IKE packet.

2) An error when handling IKE notification packets in the "ikev2parent_inI1outR1()" function (pluto/ikev2_parent.c) can be exploited to cause a restart of libreswan via a specially crafted IKE notification packet without KE payload.

3) The application insecurely creates the /var/tmp/libreswan-nss-pwd file when handling the libreswan.spec files for RHEL and Fedora packages, which can be exploited to manipulate certain data.

The vulnerabilities are reported in version 3.6.

Solution:
Update to version 3.7.

Provided and/or discovered by:
